On May 14, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) warned companies in Central Visayas to only employ workers from legitimate contractors and subcontractors. DOLE has been strictly monitoring companies conducting labor contracting, also known as “Endo” (end of contract).

This follows from the government’s completion of a new set of rules to combat illegal work migrants owing to concerns on tax evasion and dwindling job opportunities for Filipinos.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III will soon sign a deal with Thailand’s Ministry of Labour (MOL) regarding the employment of English teachers for their country’s “English for All” program. The upcoming deal is a result of their bilateral talks last March 2019 at the office of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
