PEZA Lists 23,000 Job Opportunities in Ecozone Area
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) launched an online job fair listing around 23,000 job opportunities in Calabarzon-based Economic Zones (Ecozones).
According to PEZA, the launch of the virtual job fair in the Cavite Economic Zone is part of the agency’s Development for Outreach for Labor, Livelihood, and Advancement of Resources (DOLLAR) program.
The DOLLAR program aims to promote local and foreign investments and employment within ecozones in the Philippines. Currently, there are 23,644 jobs available in locator firms in Calabarzon, which can be viewed in PEZA’s online job fair website.
The jobs listed are open to unemployed and repatriated Filipino citizens. The job fair also offers employment opportunities to fresh graduates and those looking for a work-from-home arrangement.
PEZA Director Charito Plaza states that “COVID-19 cannot stop us from giving hope and opportunities to our fellow Filipinos to find livelihood in ecozones and locator-companies that continue to operate amid the pandemic and observe health and safety measures. We bring good news for job seekers, both former OFWs and those laid off during this global crisis.”
PEZA also started offering an online skills training under the DOLLAR program in Calabarzon.
Plaza added that “What we want to do is to provide our locator-companies with the needed labor force that they are looking for which, in turn, employs our skilled and hardworking Filipino workers. It is a win-win situation, staying true to our goal to think global and act local.”
The DOLLAR program was unveiled last July, bringing online job fairs and skills training to various ecozones within the Philippines. As of September 14, the job fair portal has received over 12,000 applicants across all the active jobs posted.
